Since my early 20’s I’ve always dreamed of living a life where I could do whatever I wanted… life as an endless vacation with recreation mixed in.
Who wouldn’t want that right?
Life just always has a funny way of getting in the way of those dreams… and as years go by, for most people, those dreams get filed away in the “not attainable” file.
For me… I just could never let it go. I knew my dream lifestyle was attainable, and I was going to figure out a way.
If you’re currently promoting affiliate products, a network marketing opportunity, or just looking for a way to create a true lifestyle change… be sure to read this entire post, because it can completely change your life… if you let it.
I’ve spent the last 20 years as an entrepreneur, building both traditional businesses as well as network marketing. In traditional business, I’ve build several successful businesses with high income, but I felt “owned” by my business… even though I had the income, I was a slave that had to show up every day, manage employees, deal with customer issues, etc. It was not the lifestyle I really wanted… and that’s why I was always attracted to the concept network marketing.
However, network marketing came with it’s own bucket of frustration… bugging friends and family, home and hotel meetings, training new reps only to have them quit the next week… all for ridiculously low commissions per customer. In a perfect world, the leverage and networking aspect of it was awesome, but in reality… the way it’s practiced by most… the return is not worth the work. The truth is, most people in network marketing don’t really understand their business model or compensation plan, they continue to promote even when the math simply does not work.
After a very frustrating run of several years in network marketing, I was convinced that it was not possible to build a network marketing business that generated a high income and real time-freedom at the same time… so I turned to the affiliate marketing industry and went to work.
After 2 years of focusing on affiliate marketing I had gotten to the point where I could create a full time income, but… the amount of time I had to spend sitting at my computer was not appealing to me, and ever time I tried to step away for few days, my campaigns would fall apart, traffic would change, affiliate offers would be changed or removed, etc. It was a constant battle of building new campaigns faster than others were failing. Again… not the lifestyle I was trying to create.
Then something happened…
I came across a business model that blended the benefits of affiliate marketing… fast sales, front-end income, high conversions… with the leverage of network marketing.
Imagine getting sales every day as an affiliate.. only each of those new sales is a new member in your team that will now plug into a system that will train them to do the exact same thing as you and produce their own sales… allowing you to override a portion of income from EVERYONE over multiple levels!
And… you get paid large commissions on all product sales, instead of the normal small commissions in the affiliate marketing and network marketing industry.
It’s where affiliate marketing meets networking… creating the best of both worlds… front-end money, monthly residuals, team sales overrides… and it’s already creating some of the biggest paychecks the industry has ever seen!
Here’s a short video for you…
If you’re a network marketer…
Imagine having a clear path to signing up 2, 5, 10, or even 20 or more new team members per day without having to “prospect”, call leads, do home or hotel meetings… or drive across town to be no-showed at Starbucks.
Imagine being able to earn a full time income quickly (no more 5 year plan)… and earn as much as $7,000+ on a single sale… and earn residual monthly income from every member you and your team members enroll, down multiple levels. There’s absolutely no other compensation plan in the industry that comes even close.
I know many leaders in other network marketing companies with active teams of 3000, 5000, even more… that still don’t make a steady six-figure income. Here, with an active team of even 100, you can be creating a full time passive income… not including any personal sales or direct team passups!
If you’re an affiliate marketer…
Imagine being able to finally create stability in your income, and earn the high income without having to sit at your computer tracking campaigns 10 hours a day. You can apply the leverage of network marketing without hand-holding newbies… the system and our team structure does the training… you just plug people into what we’re already doing, and allow them to thrive.
Save a lot of time by using our constantly updated marketing tools, capture pages, email copy, traffic sources and strategies that are already proven.
Once you activate a trial account here, everything will be explained inside, and you can get setup and rolling through our step-by-step process. You don’t need to know anything or have any experience to get started, and keep in mind that this is a complete business system, so you don’t need to have any products or services of your own… it’s all provided.
Recently I emailed my subscribers and asked this question…
“What’s your biggest challenge or struggle right now keeping you from getting the results you want?”
The responses were a bit overwhelming… they came in from email replies, Facebook messages and even direct messages on Twitter… and as you know, I read every message sent to me.
I went through all your questions and was amazed that they all really boiled down to 5 common challenges. Yes, they were asked in many different ways, but really… they come down to these 5 things that I will address in this post.
The really cool thing is that none of these are really roadblocks for any of you… you’re only perceiving them to be …and we’re going to fix that in short order.
So lets dig in and talk about each of these… and my hope for you reading this right now, is that you will have a breakthrough. Clear these challenges out of your way and bulldoze right through them, as I know you can.
Challenge #1 :: Cannot afford to get started
I wanted to address this one first since it made up more than 50% of all the responses I received. It took on many forms like, “I’m broke and have no money, so I cannot do anything.”, “I’m on a fixed income, so I can’t afford to start.”, and many variations of, “I cannot find a business I can afford, or start for free.”
This is a super important topic because it’s preventing so many people from even taking the first steps toward creating a better life.
The Broke Mindset Prison
Here are a few resources to help you escape from “broke mindset prison”:
Here’s a recent post I made on facebook that shares a subscriber success story directly related to this topic. If this is your struggle right now, I highly encourage you to read it. – Read the facebook post here.
Here’s the book I recommend that can help you understand how the way we think drives our self-image… which controls everything about us. “Psycho-Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz(highly recommended)
Challenge #2 :: Cannot get traffic or generate leads
This is the 2nd most reported challenge that many of you claim is preventing your success. The thing about getting traffic is that it’s actually the easiest thing of your entire business. I’m going to show you what I mean… and the real reason you’re not getting any traffic right now.
Here’s the software I recommend for starting your own live team masterminds – zoom.us(It’s free to download, works on desktop and mobile)
If you want to check out the opportunity I promote. become part of my team, and have access to our weekly team masterminds as well as personal mentoring… you can see that here. Also keep in mind that your new team members will also have access to everything you do and that creates massive duplication. 🙂
Challenge #3 :: Cannot get my leads to take action (become buyers)
Once you’re generating leads, it’s time to focus on converting them to buyers. This is something that most never understand, and very few every talk about when it comes to conversions. Putting the proper systems in place will not really work for you if you don’t get this part straight first. I’m going to dig into a bit and you’ll quickly see how much sense this makes.
How To Increase Conversions (The Part Nobody Is Teaches)
If you get what I just talked about in the video, you’ll see how changing your thoughts and intent will drive you to taking more effective actions that will lead to a dramatic increase in conversions… people joining you in business, buying from you, etc.
When you come at things from a stance of helping others in your market, it drives you to speaking, creating content, and sharing things in such a way that people respond to.
Here’s an example:
Most people when they want to sell something, will talk about how good it is, talk about the features and benefits, etc. When you instead shift your mind to a focus of helping your customer… you buy it yourself, use it, gain a benefit… then share that experience with others since you know it can help them too. It allows you to create content, blog posts, videos, etc… that share how it benefited you, how you got the results you obtained, and how they can too.
That develops trust due to integrity. It’s a good way to set yourself apart from the masses that are hocking stuff they’ve never bought themselves, and trying to “sell” business opportunities they’ve never really gone to work in. Make sense?
Challenge #4 :: Creating credibility and influence in my niche
Establishing credibility and creating influence in your market is directly related to increasing your sales conversions, but I wanted to dig a bit deeper into this topic for the benefit of those that asked specific questions about it.
The Biggest Secrets To Creating Credibility And Influence
Challenge #5 :: Unable to generate a steady or decent income with my business
There are a few reasons why this may be your challenge… and some of you may not like a couple of the things I say here, but I assure you that it’s valid. If you’ll really pay attention to the information I share here, you may discover some very crucial details that have been holding you back from accomplishing your financial goals.
Click the image above… or right here to see the answer to this challenge.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and got some good value from it. Now… it’s all about what you do with it. 🙂
For those that found this post, but don’t know who I am, I encourage you to watch this short video. I’ll share with you a bit more about my story and how I’ve been able to generate traffic, create influence and build a multi six-figure income online in my spare time… and do that from anywhere! Check it out!
Is your Twitter account getting you daily traffic, generating leads and sales, as well as building your influence and authority with your audience?
If you’re just getting going with Twitter, this marketing strategy case study will provide some very useful and actionable tips for you to separate yourself from the masses and start heading down the path to solid and consistent results.
I will be the first to admit that I’m no expert when it comes to Twitter. My main social media focus is, and has been Facebook. However, I’ve had a Twitter account since 2010, and really done nothing with it except use it as a place to syndicate my blog posts… and that has been mostly done through automation tools. I think in the past 2 years, I’ve really only looked at my Twitter account a hand-full of times.
So, I decided last week that since I’m getting such great results on Facebook, perhaps it’s time to pay a bit more attention to Twitter in an effort to increase my social media influence and engagement.
First let me show you the results I’ve gotten in just the past 5 days, then I’ll break down exactly what I did to get those results.
803 Free Visitors From Twitter In Just 5 Days!
I should note that the visitors above are just the ones I was tracking using a tracking URL. My guess is that there were at least another 300-400 clicks to various links from tweets that I did not track.
How did I do it?
Let’s dig into what I actually did to get those results on Twitter…
Before 5 days ago, aside from the occasional click, I got relatively no traffic from Twitter. The main reason for that was because all I was doing was posting the link to my latest blog posts, videos, etc. Basically just being lazy and not engaging anyone.
Starting 5 days ago, I now do the following process daily:
1. Schedule 3-5 posts to hit during Twitter prime time (between 10am-4pm)
This is quite easy to do using tools like SocialOomph or Crowdfire. I recommend you test a couple different tools to see what you like best. The thing to keep in mind on any social platform… be social and share value! If you’re not really sure what to share on social media to create influence and authority… be sure to watch my free training here.
Here are a few ideas of what you can share…
These can be your own, or other’s… sharing you own is certainly good, but sharing other’s socially proven content can gain you more retweets and favorites, as well as more eyes on your profile… and more eyes on your profile can mean more followers.
Since images are viewable right in the Twitter feed, images will grab way more attention than just a regular text post.
Video is king!.. make sure you’re creating some video content for your audience and sharing it on Twitter. If you don’t know the how or what about video marketing, make sure you get my free training here.
Your Lifestyle (status posts)
Share what you’re doing… be social! If you’re out at playing with your kid (as I often am), having fun… snap a pic and share it on Twitter. People are curious, and love knowing/seeing what you’re doing. This is especially effective if you’re in a lifestyle business like I am.
2. Post “On The Fly”
This is the best way to post lifestyle or event type posts. Just post it as it’s happening. See something cool, funny or related to your niche market… take a pic and share it.
3. Engage With Others
If someone retweets your post, reply and thank them… or direct message them. Retweet other’s stuff that you find interesting or helpful to your followers.
4. Expand Your Followers
Find more cool people with common interests to follow each day. A great way to do this is to simply follow the followers of your competitors, or other thought leaders in your niche. Easy peasy!
One of the best things is that if you’re already sharing good stuff on another social network like Facebook… most of what you share there can also be shared on Twitter (or other social sites). So you’re not really having to come up with all separate stuff for twitter. As you can see in the traffic image above… I sent 213 clicks from Twitter to Facebook. Those were clicks going directly to posts I made on Facebook, and it got more more engagement and friends/followers on Facebook. It’s a great strategy to get people connected with you on across as many social platforms as possible.
A huge key to being effective on Twitter is the use of hashtags… (example: #twittermarketing). Make sure you’re tagging your posts with 1-3 appropriate hashtags to target your audience and ensure that your posts come up in Twitter searches. If you’re not using any hashtags… or the right hashtags, you’re missing out on a lot of potential clicks.
WARNING: If all the links you’re posting on Twitter lead to a lead capture page… you will likely get very poor results. Instead, link to high-value content targeted to your audience… share cool stuff… and BE COOL! 🙂
Again, I want to be clear that although I get stellar results on Facebook, I don’t consider myself to be an expert on Twitter …YET. I’m still learning Twitter just like you, but when I commit to learning something, I commit to it… and don’t stop until I master it. That’s just the way it works for anything. Those that “try” stuff, are never successful at anything. If you can approach everything you do with the right mindset, you can always get the result you want… eventually.
I hope you got value from this case study… if so, be sure to share it on Twitter (and Facebook), and please leave a comment below and tell me if this helped you… or if you’re an expert at Twitter marketing, please share your additional tips. 🙂
One of the things that holds people back from starting and building a successful business is their inability to properly fund their business startup.
You can start a business for a very small initial investment, then “work your way up” by continuing to invest profits. However, the problem with this method is that you don’t initially have everything you need to begin getting the results you want right out of the gate. This also poses a motivation problem since most people will simply not work as hard without first making a more substantial monetary investment in their business… there is power in having “skin in the game”.
When I got started with my current online business, I was over $800,000 in debt and in foreclosure on two properties. I certainly did not have money to start a business just laying around. I understood that if I was going to succeed, I needed to do whatever it takes to get positioned properly and get everything I needed to be successful as quickly as possible. After all… everyone wants to achieve success as fast as possible, right?
I was not just “trying it out”, or “seeing if it works”… The only true path to success is to fully commit, stop making excuses and take massive action.
I put together this post to go through some great ways to come up with the money… and if you’re motivated to get a business up and running, you’ll definitely find a few methods here that you can use.
“Lack of money has never stopped anyone fully committed to a cause from achieving it.”
Here are 27 ways to get the money you need to start your business right…
1. Your Funds And Available Credit
Obvious right? The first place to start is by taking inventory of your available resources. Compile your available bank balances, ready cash, and what you have available on credit cards. See what you can utilize without putting yourself in financial hardship with your current monthly living costs. If you’re like me, you may have to juggle a few credit card balances around to put together a usable lump sum.
2. Borrow From Your 401K
401K plans are a great resource to tap into for the purpose of business startup capital. You can very easily borrow against your 401K and get cash out quickly with usually very workable terms. Keep in mind that business startup costs are a tax deduction, and that can usually more than offset any interest you may incur with the loan against your 401K. The other thing to consider here is that by taking your new business seriously, those initial funds you invest in your business will likely produce far better returns than any 401K.
3. Friends And Family
When it comes to starting a business, many are hesitant to approach friends or family for a short-term loan. I think part of the problem is that many will approach them in the wrong manner. If you’re one of those people that just “tries stuff out to see if it works”… you’ll always have trouble getting support from anyone. However, if you approach it from a business standpoint, share with them your marketing plan and exactly what you’re “going to do”… they will be much more open, and quite possibly interested in joining you in your endevour. It’s all about your business mindset.
4. Borrow From Your Life Insurance
Much like a 401K, many insurance policies, such as whole life policies are an asset you can borrow against. You simply need to contact your insurance agent and ask if you have any ability to borrow against your plan, and the amount and terms.
5. Tap Into Your IRA
Many people have IRA accounts (Individual Retirement Account), and may be able to take a distribution. The taxes and penalty fees will vary depending on your circumstances and age. Contact your investment professional for details on this and to see if it’s an option for you.
A few years ago, I cashed out a lump sum from my IRA and paid the penalties and fees for early withdrawal to utilize those funds for a real estate investment that has made me far more than any possible growth it would have seen in the IRA account. You just have to make the decision based on your needs and the right information.
6. Get A Home Equity Line Of Credit
This one will certainly not be possible for everyone, but if it’s a possibility for you, it’s a great way to exchange equity in your home for business startup capital. Although home equity lines (HELOC) are not as prevalent as they once were, many banks and financial institutions still do them, and some at terrific terms. If you have equity in your home, it may be worth contacting your bank to see if it’s an option.
7. Small Business Or Personal Bank Loans
Many local banks and credit unions will offer small business or personal loans. As long as you have the credit scores for it, this may be just your ticket.
The best way for me to explain this method is with a quick video. This method literally allows you to create money out of thin air by creating value for others. You’ll see why it’s my favorite after you watch this video.
9. Sell Your Stuff On Craigslist
This is one that should be obvious, but many don’t think about it. We’ve all heard the phrase, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”… but nothing allows you to capitalize quickly on all that stuff in your garage, closet, under your bed… or stashed in storage… like Craigslist.
In our house when we were trying to come up with funds, out motto was, “if we’ve not used it or worn it in the last 6 months.. sell it!” Old bicycles, workout equipment, tools, books, clothing, jewelry, anything.. can fetch quick cash by listing on Craigslist. It only take a minute to snap a photo and list it… and the calls come in right away.
I recently listed an old printer on Craigslist for $40, and had 6 people that wanted it within 2 hours. I sold it for $45.
10. Sell Other People’s Stuff On Craigslist
Don’t have anything of your own to sell?… reach out to others you know and offer to list and handle the sale of their stuff for a percentage of the sale. This seems to work especially well to help out your parents and grandparents clear all that old stuff out of their garage.
11. Junk Flipping
This is a concept that even spurred on it’s own reality show. You buy cheap stuff of value at garage sales, estate sales and even on Craigslist or Ebay… then turn around and re-list it and sell it for more. If you have the ability to fix stuff up and make it even more valuable than when you bought it, you’ll do even better.
12. Yard Sale
This is for the stuff that you cannot sell on Craigslist, like clothing and other household stuff. Many neighborhoods have annual yard sales that are a great way to take advantage of lots of seekers of “stuff”. You can easily compile some stuff and clear $40 to $200, or even more in a weekend.
13. Sell The Extra Car
Have a car that’s not necessary?.. sell it and gain cash, as well as eliminating an extra monthly expense. If you’re one of those people that have a car sitting around that doesn’t even run, there’s a market for that. List it on Craigslist and have cash in 48 hours!
14. Sell The Boat, Motorcycles, Jet Skis
Many people have ski boats, motorcycles… and other recreational equipment that gets used a few times per year. As much as you love those toys, think about this…
If you utilize the value in those toys to get your business going, you can create a business that provides an income that will allow you to buy those toys again… even better ones. It’s a matter of practicing “delay of gratification”.
15. Sell Your Jewelry
I’ve known many people that have been able to raise business capital very quickly by selling a few pieces of jewelry. I know you can become quite attached to jewelry, but it may be a matter of deciding how bad you want to start your business right.
16. Sell Your Body Parts – What!?
HAHA!… NO, seriously… this is a thing. You can make some good money by selling plasma, blood, sperm, eggs, and hair.
If you have long and straight hair, it’s in demand. An Indiana woman recently sold 31 inches of hair for $4,000. Going rate for egg donors can be as high as $5,000 – $8,000. Sperm can go for up to $1,000 per month depending on your health and age. Blood and plasma donations can net $25 – $50, up to $200 per month.
It may not be the your best option, but it’s an option.
17. Kid-sit, Pet-sit, House-sit
There are likely people in your circles that would be happy to pay you to watch their house, pets… or even their kids. You just don’t know until you do a bit of networking to feel it out. Getting paid to house-sit or pet-sit is best because you can use that “paid time” to put energy into other money-generating activities on your laptop.
18. Ravage Your Crib
Oh yes, we cannot leave this out. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve found lost money in a drawer, pants pocket, under the couch, in a drawer, etc. If you pillage your house, chances are, you’ll find some too.
…But ravaging your crib can mean a lot more than just finding those lost coins and bills in the couch. How about cancelling all those unessential services that do nothing more than waste time and fill your head with negativity?… Yes, I’m talking about the cable or satellite bill!
The average household pays $65 – $120 per month in cable TV or premium services, and wastes an average of 6 hours per day staring at the box. That’s not only substantial funds that can be redirected to your business, but also more than enough time to create some killer results with any business venture.
Most highly successful people I know hardly watch any TV (and certainly not the news).. and many, like myself have no cable service at all… Think about that.
19. Return Past Purchases
Take a look in your closet and around the house to find those items you bought, but either did not use, wear.. or need. Then return them. Many places will accept returns without receipts, or can find it on your credit card. Even if the best you can get is an in-store credit, use it to buy something else, then return that.
This method may seem a bit desperate, but hey… how bad do you want it?
20. Recycle Scrap Metal
These days scrap metal brings in a pretty penny. I know a guy that posts a “scrap metal wanted” ad in Craigslist and gets calls daily to come pick some up. He then sells it for profit. You can take this idea to whatever level you want.
21. Pimp Rides – Lyft and Uber
Services like Lyft and Uber are hitting every major city in America and offer a great way for people to make extra money part time or full time giving rides. Lyft’s website boasts earning up to $35/hour as a driver with them, and Uber is right in line with that.
There are of course some requirements; your car must meet their guidelines and you must have a clean record and all the appropriate insurance, but it’s a great way to pick up the extra cash you need to get your business off the ground.
22. Get A Part-Time Job
I would only recommend this if you’re not able to drive for Lyft or Uber since good part time jobs are few and far between, but when it comes to funding your dream, you do what you gotta do!
23. Find An Online Gig
If you have skills with graphics, website development, coding, marketing, video editing, writing or any other marketable skill… you may want to make yourself available for gigs through Fiverr.com, or other services for hire sites like elance.com, odesk.com.
It’s not a lot of money, but it’s a great way to earn some quick cash from home at your convenience.
24. Rent Out A Room In Your Home
Have an extra room in your home, livable basement, room above the garage?… rent it out to a tenant and create an extra monthly income. You can find free rental or least agreement forms for your state online free, and craigslist can quickly match you up with that perfect person to rent your space.
25. Rent out Your Parking Space
If you live in an area where parking is at a premium, you can make some serious bank by selling parking space. I know someone that lives downtown Portland and rents their parking spot for $380 per month. That works out great for them since they don’t even have a car.
IF you’re reading way down here and have not found at least a few solutions that will work for you… you really need to start getting creative.
26. Pawn Some Stuff
For those items of value that you’re not willing to part with, you can get quick cash by simply pawning them at your local pawn shop. In case you don’t know how that works… you simply take in your items and leave them with the pawn show in exchange for cash and an agreement that you can buy them back within a set period of time for that same amount. If you don’t return, the pawn shop will own your items.
27. Take It To The Crowd – Crowd Funding
Crowd funding is still a relatively new method, and it can work for those that get a bit creative. You can visit sites like gofundme.com, setup an account, explain your cause, and lay out why people should fund your venture.
Another great site for crowd funding or obtaining loans for business purpose is prosper.com. Prosper allows people to invest in each other in a way that is financially and socially rewarding. On Prosper, borrowers list loan requests between $2,000 and $35,000 and individual lenders invest as little as $25 in each loan listing they select. Prosper handles the servicing of the loan on behalf of the matched borrowers and investors.
I will tell you that you’ll likely get nothing if all you do is state your business and ask for money. You need to be a bit more creative and get into the details of what you’re doing and why. Share your vision and remember that those considering funding you will be asking themselves “why should I?”… give them an answer to that… make yourself stand out among all the others that are simply holding out their hands.
What Does It Cost To Start A Business?
The cost to start a business varies widely depending on the kind of business you’re starting and your desired business goals. Today you can actually start an online business for less than you’ll spend at lunch, but that’s just to get started. If you’re serious about building a real solid sustainable business, you’ve got to be willing to invest in yourself, your training, tools, advertising, etc.
As an example… my online business allows you to get your foot in the door for a measly $1 buck. However, once you get inside, you’ll learn everything you need to know about how your business works and what you’ll need to do next to really get it going… and that will require further investment… how much depends on your business goals and level of commitment.
I can share with you that those that get started here and simply follow our exact instructions to get setup, invest in their business, and take massive action… are the ones that achieve success.
A couple years ago if someone would have told me that I could create a business that produced over $250,000 in it’s first 29 months for less than $10,000…. I would have never believed it.
Whatever business you’re starting, online or offline… take it seriously, treat it like a business… a profession… and you’ll likely get professional results.
If you’re still searching for just the right business opportunity and would like to take a look at what I’m doing and work directly with me as your mentor, click here and watch this video. …but keep in mind that even through you can get started for relatively no money, you will need to step up your game if you want the kind of results you see below.

If you’re marketing online, you should already understand the power of list-building and email marketing. Building a list of loyal subscribers that like and trust you is what we all aim for… but crafting and sending emails that get solid open rates is a skill you must practice and always be improving, because… if no one is opening our emails, what’s the point of all that work?
The email subject line is the biggest factor that influences whether or not an email gets opened, and if it’s not getting opened… your email body copy does not even matter.
Here Are 19 Surprising Subject Line Stats
1. 33% of email recipients open email based on subject line alone.
2. 69% of email recipients report email as spam based solely on the subject line.
3. 40% of emails are opened on mobile first – where the average mobile screen can only fit 4-7 words max.
4. Emails with “You” in the subject line were opened 5% less than those without.
5. Emails with “fw:” in the subject line were opened 17% less than those without.
6. 18.7% decrease in open rates when the word “newsletter” is used in subject lines.
7. 61.8% increase in opens when using the word “alert” in subject lines.
8. Using the words “Sale”, “New”, or “Video” in subject lines boost open rates.
9. Using “Daily” or “Weekly” in subject lines boosts open rates whereas “Monthly” hurts them.
10. The top five subject lines in a recent study all included “Re:”.
11. Subject lines with 30 or fewer characters have an above average open rate.
12. Emails with “Free” in the subject line were opened 10% more than those without.
13. Emails with “Quick” in the subject line were opened 17% less than those without.
14. Subject lines with 3 or more words are opened 15% less than those with 1-2.
15. Emails with “Tomorrow” in the subject line were opened 10% more than those without.
16. Emails with “Meeting” in the subject line were opened 7% less than those without.
17. Personalized subject lines are 22.2% more likely to be opened.
18. Subject lines that create a sense of urgency and exclusivity can give a 22% higher open rate.

19. Emails with no subject line at all were opened 8% more than those with a subject line.
While these stats provide valuable insight into what impacts open rates, nothing beats your own testing.
Now that we’ve uncovered some very useful data regarding email subject lines, and you’ve got people opening your emails… let’s focus in on some tips to help you be more effective with your email body copy.
5 Email Marketing Tips To Increase Effectiveness
1. Make sure your email has obvious links.
The purpose of your email is to drive traffic to your landing page, product page or website. Without driving clicks to your page or website, users can’t convert to signups or customers. They key to this is quite simple… capitalize on every moment where a user may feel compelled to click.
Include plenty of links in your email, and make sure your links look like links. Use strong calls to action, and even the occasional “click here” message. An easy rule of thumb to follow… include at least 1 link per paragraph in your email.
2. Minimize use of images.
Images can certainly enhance the user experience of your emails, and everyone likes cool pics, but using too many images will trigger spam filters. I recommend not including more than 1-3 images per email… and always be sure to host those images on high-speed image hosting services.
3. Make it easy to unsubscribe.
This may seem counter productive, but it’s really good practice. Making it easy to unsubscribe will get rid of those that may otherwise report your email as spam, while retaining solid subscribers that want your continued information.
Make sure you have a 1-click unsubscribe process that is clearly defined.
4. Follow SPAM tips when you send.
Most professional email marketing services will give you spam recommendations prior to sending your email. Pay close attention to it and make adjustments if your email falls into the spam parameters. It’s usually just a matter of removing or changing a word or two. That extra 30 seconds can mean the difference between hitting the inbox or the spam box.
5. Optimize for mobile.
As you saw in the statistic above, 40% of emails are first opened on a mobile device. Make sure the formatting of your email message will display properly across mobile devices. If they cannot easily read your email, they will quickly delete it.
One way to ensure your messages display properly is to limit the line-length of your messages… putting 5-7 words per line works well.
Struggling with your online marketing?…
The key to successful marketing is in learning the right information, from the right people. When you can fit all the moving parts together easily, it really becomes a breeze… not to mention, a really enjoyable profession.
Did you know that 876,000 times a year, someone is typing the exact phrase, “How to get smarter” into the Google search bar?
In addition, there are more than 1000 other variations of that same search being conducted daily.
So what does that tell us?..
Our education system and current social condition doesn’t put an emphasis on teaching “How To Learn”.
Think about it… In school we are taught how to follow directions and how to memorize facts. Most of what we memorize is only short-term for the purpose of spewing it out on a test, then purging it. Once out of the educational system, many people simply stop learning.
You should never be content with what you currently know. You really NEED to continue progressing, getting smarter throughout your life… You need to learn how to keep learning.
7 Simple Tips To Help You Get Smarter
1. Make Learning a Daily Task
If you recognize that you will never know everything, then you should also realize that it’s easy to learn something new every single day. One of the best ways to do that is to read daily. There are so many great books, that there is really no excuse to not be constantly reading something of value. If you don’t know where to start, pick up a copy of “Psycho-Cybernetics” by Maxwell Maltz. If you’ll just spend 15 minutes per day reading, you’ll see a change in yourself quickly.
One of the major things that keeps people stuck in life, is their own view of themselves… their “self-image”. What you believe about yourself will keep you contained to that belief. Our self-image is constructed over time and is influenced by life experiences and what we’ve been told about ourselves by others.. and it affects everything we do and see. It creates our perception of the world.
The really cool thing is… you can change your self-image. Just because you believe something about yourself to be true, that does not make it a true reality. For example, if you’ve been telling yourself your whole life that you’re not very technical, and you believe that… you will continue to struggle with technical things. Understanding that your lack of technical skills is simply a limiting belief about yourself, you can curb the behavior that continues to reinforce that belief, and no longer struggle with “technical”.
This is proven science, and just one of the many things you can learn from digging into the right knowledge consistently. Imagine how far we would all be if this stuff was taught in school.
2. Focus on Knowledge Retention
In our education system, the focus is really on short-term memory of information, so it’s no wonder that most people have a tendency to skip over the most important piece when it comes to really learning… the “DO” …putting learned knowledge into action.
This can be as simple as discussing what you’ve learned with others, or if it’s practical utility… Use it or you might lose it. Amazing things happen when you put knowledge into action… You develop and evolve.
When you apply action to learned knowledge, you develop real skills… and the continued practice allows you to master any skill-set and teach it more effectively.
3. Take up a Hobby or Start a Blog
Pursuing a hobby or starting a blog is a great way to exercise your mind. You will be constantly learning new things, taking action and improving your skills. These are all parts of “working out” your mind… and the more you work out, the smarter you get.
I personally have learned so much about myself, and others through blogging. Developing yourself, helping others and sharing your journey can be incredibly powerful. When you first get started you’ll feel like you don’t know what you’re doing, but like anything else, you just continue to learn, exercise your mind and get better.
Blogging is a powerfully unique activity that not only can allow you to get smarter, but can also completely transform your life (as well as your lifestyle). After all, if you’re going to start a hobby, why not start one that can actually make you money and completely change your life.
4. Eat Healthy
Stay away from “brain killing” foods like artificial sweeteners and large quantities of grains in your diet. Eat organic meats and produce if possible. Don’t be afraid of foods high in natural fats, as they are good for your brain. Incorporate blueberries, salmon, flax seeds, nuts, broccoli and dark chocolate into your diet; they are all proven to enhance brain function.
We’re not talking about crazy extreme diets here, we’re just talking about paying attention and actually caring about what you put in your body.
The phrase that you should always keep in the forefront of your mind is, “Garbage in… garbage out.” After all, we are what we eat, and eating right can provide you with a serious increase in energy and mental clarity… so eating healthy can actually make you smarter.
5. Build Positive Relationships
You may have heard that your income will become the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with, but do you know why?…
It’s because the people you spend the most time with will have a large influence on your mindset, your attitude, your knowledge, your activities and your life. If you want to become smarter, hang around with smarter people who have what you want, or live the way you want.
If you don’t currently have enough of those kind of people in your social circles, don’t worry… You can join groups, clubs or online business networks of positive and influential people. One such network that I’m both a member of and highly recommend is iPAS/Empower Network, a network of like-minded entrepreneurs that help each other succeed online, develop their best self and create their dream lifestyle.
6. Exercise Daily
Consistent exercise will help protect your brain against dementia later in life. It will also produce endorphins which make you feel better, improve mental acuity and overall attitude. If you spend long hours sitting at your day job, be sure to get up many times throughout the day and move around.
I often hear people complaining about their office jobs and how they have to sit in a chair for 8-10 hours per day…. getting “chair butt” as they call it. The thing is, you can get up, walk around, take breaks, etc… and if you feel like you cannot, you can always make a change, do something different, and create a different life for yourself. It’s your life, and you get to choose how you live it.
7. Quit Smoking
The Archives of Internal Medicine published a study where they followed 21,123 Californian smokers between 1978 and 2008. The study found that those who were heavy smokers doubled their risk of memory loss later in life. If you’re trying to get smarter, smoking is a habit that will not serve you well.
Heavy smoking in midlife is associated with a 157 percent increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and a 172 percent increased risk of developing vascular dementia, according to the Kaiser Permanente study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. (See more on this study here)
Some of these tips may seem trivial, but if you put them into practice, you will notice a difference; even in a short period of time. Heck, you probably just got a little smarter from just reading this post.
If I had to narrow it all down to one single tip that was more important than the rest, it would be #5 “Building Positive Relationships”. The reason is simple… If you associate yourself with the right group of people, all focused on self improvement and enriching the lives of people around them… everything else will begin to fall into place. That’s the power of positive influence!
I cannot emphasize enough how powerful it is to be a part of a community of like-minded people, all going in the same direction toward achieving their better self.. and better lifestyle. If you want to really catapult your self-growth… this is a great place to start.
Do you have a favorite tip from above… or some personal tips of you own to share?… leave a comment below and be sure to share this post with your friends. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. 🙂
Someone said to me recently that they were not interested in a home network marketing business because they heard that 80% or more of all people fail.
First of all…
Yes… it’s absolutely TRUE! …but before we get into this, I want to make an important distinction… most people fail in network marketing, simply because they quit.
Here’s what I have to say about that…
80% of people who start a network marketing business, quit… and the percentage is probably a bit higher than that.
…Just like 80% of people who start a workout… quit.
…Just like 80% of people who try to be a real estate agent… quit.
…Just like 80% of people who try to be a mortgage broker… quit.
…Just like 80% of people who start a new diet…. quit.
…Just like 80% of people who start to read a book… quit.
This is not a home business statistic folks…
it’s a HUMAN statistic!
(…or you could even call it a universe statistic)
It’s referred to as the “80/20 RULE” or the “Pareto Principle” (…look it up).
Here’s what Wikipedia says…
The Pareto principle (also known as the 80–20 rule, the law of the vital few, and the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. Management consultant Joseph M. Juran suggested the principle and named it after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who, while at the University of Lausanne in 1896, published his first paper “Cours d’ economie politique.” Essentially, Pareto showed that approximately 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population; Pareto developed the principle by observing that 20% of the pea pods in his garden contained 80% of the peas.
It is a common rule of thumb in business; e.g., “80% of your sales come from 20% of your clients”. Mathematically, the 80–20 rule is roughly followed by a power law distribution (also known as a Pareto distribution) for a particular set of parameters, and many natural phenomena have been shown empirically to exhibit such a distribution.
Here are a few more examples:
80% of a company’s profits come from 20% of its customers.
80% of a company’s complaints come from 20% of its customers.
80% of a company’s profits come from 20% of the time its staff spend.
80% of a company’s sales come from 20% of its products.
80% of a company’s sales are made by 20% of its sales staff.
As you can see, this “rule” can be applied to pretty much everything… look around and you’ll find many more examples.
It’s also why the 80% never make any money at all in network marketing …They give up and quit at the first sign of an obstacle, and making money with that mode of operation is damn near impossible.
So… no matter what you’re personal goals and dreams are… just commit to achieving them, and don’t quit on that dream.
…That’s all it takes to be on the other side of the 80/20 equation.. the 20%.
If you want to know how to be in the top 1%… first be in the top 20%, keep working on YOU… and DON’T QUIT… No matter what!
So Is Everyone Who Quits Something… A “Quitter”?
This is a really important topic, because in the network marketing industry many people toss around the “Q” word as a derogatory term, and although in some cases that’s founded, it’s more often not.
If we’re talking about this from a mature business perspective…
Some People Really Should Quit!
…Quit what they are currently doing that is.
There are currently thousands of turn-key home businesses that you can start up today. All of them claim to have the best products, business model, system, pay plan, etc.
However, whether or not a specific home business, product, company or marketing strategy is a good match for you… depends entirely on…
what YOU want.
If you’re like most people, these are your most important 3 requirements…
3 Most Desired Home Business Requirements
1. The ability to work from home (or anywhere).
2. The ability to earn an above-average income.
3. The ability to create a time-freedom lifestyle (have a life, and enjoy it).
Pretty straight forward requirements, right?
The problem is that most people are trying to achieve those 3 things listed above, but are attempting to do it using a business model and marketing methods that take them in a whole different direction from what they really desire.
Most home business opportunities will sell you on the idea of working from home, but the majority of what they then teach you to do involves you going out “prospecting” people to join your business, doing home parties, and attending meetings. While that may certainly be “working out of your home”, it’s not working from home.
In pretty much every network marketing opportunity, you have the ability to earn a high income… but… it’s what you have to do to earn it that most people simply over look. It’s easy to get starry-eyed over car bonuses, vacation spiffs and other fancy incentives… but wouldn’t it make more sense to just get paid a lot more commissions per customer? …When you’re making a lot more, you can easily pay for your own vacations (and go on them when YOU want.)
Probably the most important requirement of all is the ability to create time-freedom. The age-old problem most have is that they either have money and no time, or lots of time, but no money. Every business opportunity in the network marketing space will preach “time-freedom”, but when you understand the model that nearly every one of them use… you quickly see that it doesn’t really create time-freedom.
Something to think about: Once you’re living that dream lifestyle, traveling, enjoying life… can you continue to do all those things you’re doing to build your business, and still have time to enjoy life? If you think that you’re going to build your business for a little while using traditional methods, then go enjoy life, kick back and watch your business grow… think again! The key is in having a leveraged business model that allows you to always be building your business… while enjoying your life from anywhere.
Before learning this stuff and really understanding this industry, I spent years trying to build a profitable business. In 2002 I was able to finally break into what most would consider a full-time income at around $6,000 per month, but what I had to do on a daily basis to achieve it was not only unsustainable… it was downright miserable work.
There’s a common phrase used in this industry, “Selling the dream, but living the nightmare.” There is a lot of truth to that phrase… and there are many living the nightmare.
I was spending so much time prospecting… recruiting… selling… trying to train and coach new people… doing presentations for others… doing 3-way calls… running booths… trying to keep people in the game and get them to take action… only to see the majority of them quit.
…and as we’ve already established above, no matter what your business, company, products, or pay-plan… the majority of people will quit, no matter what level of support, training and mentoring you provide… and no matter what inflated retention numbers you’ve been told by your upline or company.
“You just need to work hard in the beginning to find a couple good leaders, then you’ve got it made.”
I’m betting you’ve heard that before. The truth is, network marketing industry-wide statistics show that in network marketing if you don’t have a process of continually bringing in new people personally… your business WILL fail… and if you’re doing all those things like we were… you will eventually burn out just like we did.
In fact… in 2003, my wife and I walked away from that company, made a pact and swore we would never again allow the other to participate in a network marketing opportunity.
Did that make us quitters?…
We absolutely quit what we were doing …but we did NOT quit on our dream of creating a freedom lifestyle with a home based business… and our goal of meeting all 3 of the requirements mentioned above.
We had to quit what we were doing quite a few times along the way in order to course-correct, and get realigned with what we really wanted.
Network marketing is by far the most powerful model for creating the income and lifestyle you want… but only if your business model and methods of marketing match your desired lifestyle.
My point to sharing this story with you is this…
In order to thrive in network marketing and realize those 3 requirements listed above (provided that’s what YOU want), you must learn how to attract people already interested in what you offer and have a system to follow up, qualify, educate, upsell and train them without your involvement. Having that in place, leaves you free to focus on what is most important…
Marketing, building personal relationships, mentoring leaders… and living and enjoying your life!
If you have to quit a few things along the way in order to stay true to your dream of creating a freedom lifestyle… so be it. Pretty much every highly successful home business entrepreneur I know has been involved in 2-4 opportunities before they figured out what they really wanted, understood the business model they needed, and discovered the right business for them.
In order to realize your dreams, you have to first get crystal clear on what they are.
Recognizing that your current business model or marketing methods are not inline with your goals and taking corrective actions… does not make you a “Quitter”… it’s just smart business. However, I would be remiss if I did not also mention that it is super important that you only quit doing something for valid reasons… dig into your model, understand your business metrics, make sure your business mentors actually have the lifestyle you’re aiming for.
Figure out what drives you.. the REAL reasons you want success… visualize it until you can taste it… then grab on and don’t let go. Success is a choice… and it’s ALL up to YOU!
If you’ve not gotten started yet, or you’re still muddling through the vast chasm of home business information online, here is a great place to start…
This is the home business I recommend if your goal is to achieve the 3 requirements listed above. It took me 20 years to gain what I’ve shared in this post, but only 28 months to create freedom once I aligned with this business model.
Disclaimer: The results shown are mine and they are not typical or a guarantee. As we’ve already established, the typical person quits at the first sign of an obstacle. Success in business requires a personal investment of both capital and time.
